It's that time again!

I know it isn't December just yet, but they only last until the middle of that month so it's not too early to discuss them. THE GERMAN CHRISTMAS MARKETS ARE BAAACKK! Hurrah for gluhwien, frankfurters and over-priced gingerbread! I saw a bit of the one in Liverpool today and they better be putting in more stalls because at the moment it consists of one man roasting chesnuts, one gingerbread stall (definately needs to be about fifteen for it to be a proper christmas market) and one frankfurter stall that isn't even one of the fun round ones with hot dogs being served from every angle. With any luck I'll be venturing into Manchester on Friday - the one there is always much better, and their oversized christmas decorations are so pretty!

Anyone else taking a trip to the Christmas Markets? AND what has everyone asked Father Christmas for?!

Oh also thanks to everyone for the foundation recommendations - I'll write a little list and take it shopping with me on Friday!

  9. Yes we have the biggest German market outside of Germany in Birmingham. It's awesome and ranges from German goodies, Arts and Crafts to a funfair! I love it.

  14. Oh! how festive! We don't have any of these here (that I know of) but I would love if we did! I'm so excited for christmas!! There's a road in my city which is famous for having the most amazing christmas lights ever which is really fun to drive on. People from all over California come to see it so I guess that's pretty exciting!
I might do some sort of wishlist post soon. What are you asking for? :)

  17. Oh, I went to the one in Paris last week! It wans't too bad despite the large amount of tourists blocking my way and buying cheap 'cashmere' scarves ;-) It is a bit commercialized of course, but I was delighted to find a few Frankfurter and Bratwurst stands, as well as a few Lebkuchen and other goodie ones. I must confess I"m spoiled though... having lived in Germany, nothing really compares to the real thing ;-)
