Frocky Horror

I went to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show theatre production at the Liverpool Empire on Friday night and LOVED IT! I hadn't even seen the film before I went, so wasn't sure what I'd be in for but it was a real treat. Obviously, I'll use any excuse to get dressed up but rather than going for anything see-through or involving lingerie, I crimped my hair (hello volume) and wore an underskirt with this dress. I also got to wear my fascinator which comes out for occasions such as this (I also wore it on hallowe'en and when I went to see Elton John). Dancing in the theatre was fun and I must get round to seeing the movie this week. Definately go and see it if it comes to a theatre near you.

Blazer - Vintage (Mum's), Dress - Sara Berman @ UO, Fascinator - River Island, Boots - Topshop

P.s. Has anyone got any reccomendations for a nice foundation? Or even ones to avoid? This one is shiny and orange and I can't justify paying £30 for my usual Chanel one any more.

  8. You definitely look all dressed up and ready to have some fun! Loving the crimped hair! I'm no good with foundation but have tried Clinique before and MAC. The latter being a bit too thick for my liking!

  13. Hey! Thanks for your comment. I love your latest post. Rocky Horror Picture Show and crimped hair are the best! As for a new foundation? My face is always really shiny so I cannot help you there! Good luck and let me know how you get on with reducing the shine x

  15. Gorgeous outfit! I love the bright pink and the underskirt is a great idea. And wow, that fascinator is pretty fantastic! A friend of mine saw this production (not in the UK though) and loved it. I hope I'll get a chance to see it one day.

Oh, and I used to have huge problems finding a foundation that matched my skin. I think a few of the L'Oreal ones weren't bad, but these days I use MAC, because the color is perfect and the price is ok.

  17. Look at that lion's mane on your head. I'm jealous.

And in terms of foundation, I've been using an oil free version from Shu Uemura that I LOVE LOVE LOVE. I think it's called Face Architect, and the color matches my skin perfectly. Check it out!

  20. OMG! I love this outfit plus the fascinator. I love how you went all out and dressed to the nines. I wish more people did that every day.

The foundation I've been using for about a year now is Prescriptives Magic Illuminating Potion. It's good if you don't want your foundation to be too heavy and cakey -- http://www.prescriptives.com/templates/products/sp_shaded.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY14700&PRODUCT_ID=PROD12082

  23. You must do a vlog post!! I want to see what your DIY will be! And I'm sure you couldn't have a worse voise than me. I was actually really nervous about posting a video because I don't really like my voice either! I mumble a lot and sometimes people think I sound like a boy :( Thank you for being so nice!
