So Good They Named It Twice

So, last week we flew to NYC to celebrate my grandma's 70th birthday (on the right). I fell in love with the city - I don't think I could live there because it's pretty crazy, but I will definately go again. Here are some of the 507 photos I took over the course of the trip.

Fashion week - we only caught the last day of it really and got invited to a show but ended up completely in the wrong part of town so missed that sadly.

We went to the natural history museum (my sister 'doesn't do' museums and needed plenty of coaxing to get her in but really enjoyed it) where they had a frog exhibition which was fun. I do love frogs, and their colours are amazing. This one looks pretty chilled.

Central Park: It is strange that something so beautiful and peaceful exists in the middle of such a hectic city.

This is the view from the top of the Empire State building. We caught it at dusk and watching the city come alive with lights was wonderful.

We also went for dinner at the Marriot in the revolving restaurant. These are some of the desserts - the campbells soup was like a chocolate mousse in an icing 'tin'. Yum!

And finally I would definately reccommend the bus tours to anyone who is short on time, but wants to see as much as possible. We did the downtown and uptown tours, got the ferry across to Ellis Island and did a night tour which went across to Brooklyn. The tour guides were hilarious too.

We had perfect weather and spent a ridiculous amount of time shopping. I'll be sure to show you what I've bought in future posts!

Big Apple Street Style

This was my favourite outfit from the trip to NY.
I love how the dog looks as happy as Larry wearing this ensemble.

I've still got to sift through the 507 pictures that I took to see if there are any decent ones to post. Hopefully I'll get to do that tomorrow because I've got the morning off uni.

Bed time for me - I don't think my body clock is quite right just yet. TTFN!

I should be packing...

This is the dress I wore to the party that crippled me on Saturday evening. I picked it up in TK Maxx that day because I couldn't decide what to wear from my existing wardrobe - any excuse to buy a new dress and I will. It's got loads of lovely detailing - ruffles on the front and back, a cut-out bit and buttons too but they are under the jacket - I'll take a picture of them at some point. The blazer I stole from my Nan and was from Marks and Spencer about a million years ago when everything was St Michaels.

I haven't been able to part with my Leeds Festival band just yet, so I've been teaming it with these two bracelets - the faux pearls with lock and key charms was a present and the peace sign one from Stolen Thunder - to jazz it up slightly.

I still need to pack for New York but I'm racking my brains to see what will go with a support bandage - not a lot so far. I'm just going to have to wear flats all holiday too. Worst timing ever!

Edit: It's 06:18AM so I've run out of time to do a new post - I have to leave in about ten minutes. I'm trying to shove some bran flakes down my throat and book All American Rejects tickets. See you next week!

Last of the Summer Sun

Feeling a lot happier today - apologies for my complaining below. These were taken yesterday at my Nan's pool - the water fight between my cousin and I was completely unfair because my water pistol didn't actually work at all.

Is there a way to make pool hair look half acceptable at all? If there is I'm not even close to discovering it. The rather retro looking bikini is from good old Primark - they actually do really good swimwear and usually swimming costumes I've spent more money on get left in the wardrobe in favour of one of these £7 delights!

I went to a party last night and after a few too many managed to sprain my ankle. I'm going to New York on Wednesday as well so hopefully I'll be able to walk on it then otherwise I'm in trouble.

Also if anyone has been to, or lives in New York, if you've got the time, tell me a couple of good places to go/see please - sights, shops, restaurants whatever!

Ruff Woods

Since the boy moved back home, I've been struggling to get anyone to take outfit posts for me, plus I've been feeling rather miserable all week so instead here are some snaps of the woods round the corner from my house. I usually just use it as a short cut, but I had a proper wander round yesterday and it is very pretty indeed. Reminds me of Jurassic Park.

Enjoy the weekend, and if you are in the UK the suprisingly good weather!

Off Again...

This weekend my family and I are (for some unknown reason) off to Norfolk to go on a boat. I will return on Tuesday. Nothing eventful at all has happened since my last post, so I'll just leave you with these cute boots from Clarks - they are limited edition and celebrate the 60th anniversary of the desert boot.

For some reason, because they are limited edition, it appears that a UK8 can't be made. All of the normal ones come in an eight, but not these, and they are supposed to be tiny sizes, so sadly they will never be mine. Sigh!

Back to Reality

Apologies for this being my third post in a row about Leeds festival, but here are some pictures that were actually from this year. We loaded the car full of junk, and drove off to a dirty, smelly, muddy campsite, got terrorized by wasps, laughed at people who fell asleep before they made it in to their tents, spent an obscene amount of money on booze and food and had a jolly good time indeed.
I lived in my trusty rain mac and a rather fetchcing sweater donated by my Nan - She knitted it about twenty years ago. I've also got rid of my background and such because I got sick of looking at it. I'll find a replacement header soon, or maybe just put the old layout back - I'm not sure yet. Hope everyone enjoyed their bank holiday weekends!

Edit: Just put a temporary header up for now because it was annoying me not having one. I'll endeavour to make a better one soon.
